Night Before Australia!

Hello fellow readers and welcome to my travel blog. Well the time has finally come! Who would have ever thought?? (especially for me). I still remember to this day were going to Australia was just an idea, but now im just 14 hours away from take off, and starting a new chapter in my life. How did i get started you ask? Well its simple, SWAP!…which stands for Students Work Abroad Program. This program has helped me get my one year working visa, help me find a job, accomodation, help me set up a bank account, and cell phone, as well as orientaion were i will meet other fellow swappers. The moment I heard about this website and checked it out, I knew that this was a great opportunity for me and going to work abroad half way around the world was actually possible. So whats in this for me? Many things! For the first time in my life im going to learn how to live the “independant” life style. Making my own food…doing my own laundry (for the first time) washing dishes, paying rent; and the most important thing, learning about myself and the new culture of life that surrounds me. I chose the city of Melbourne because its one of the smaller cities in Australia. The public transit is really good,(which is a big deal because i wont be driving), the economy is in great condition so getting a job shouldnt be to difficult, It’s voted the 3rd most livable city in the world and also has the highest population of italians I have nothing but great things to say about this city. As for you who follow my blogs, you will see how much of a beautiful city Melbourne will turn out to be. Anyways I’m going to keep this short and sweet. This is my first time doing a blog…and theirs no word check so I appologize about the lack of literal skills. I plan to keep my blog updated every 2-4 weeks, hope you all enjoy my posts, and thanks for the visits! Goodbye Vancouver!…but most importantly goodbye to all my family and friends.
